The Mansfield Fire Department is promoting an initiative to have residents
purchase a reflective sign for their residences. These signs are designed
to be affixed to mailboxes, posts, or in any other way such as they are visible
from the roadways. In accordance with Town of Mansfield ordinance §111-4,
all buildings must be labeled with 3.5" (three and one-half inch) reflective
numbers. These signs will meet that requirement for residents.
These signs are also available to non-residents.

10 October 2010 - Structure Fire
Mansfield Fire assisted the Willimantic Fire Department and other mutual aid companies and ambulances (UConn, North Windham, Windham Center, South Windham, and Columbia) with this structure fire on Clark St. Mansfield provided an ambulance for rehab and transport on the initial alarm, as well as 3 Engines, a Rescue, and more than a dozen firefighters on the second alarm assignment. Kudos to Willimantic Firefighters Ronald Miles, Jr. and Kyle Chapin who rescued an occupant trapped on the third floor just after their arrival. See these other photos taken by Firefighter Eric Beaulieu and Joseph Beaulieu. (If you have photos you would like posted, please contact the webmaster.) |
3-9 October 2010 - Fire Prevention Week
Mansfield FD participated in Fire Prevention Week 2010 by visiting all of the town's elementary schools (Vinton, Southeast, and Goodwin), as well as the Discovery Depot. Each grade will get a special discussion about fire safety that builds on the message from 2009, will have the opportunity to play a fire safety related game, and will get to see some of the department's fire trucks! Here are some of the pictures from the week. |
